Plant Notes

| Last updated: October 2022 |

I first spotted this low-lying herbaceous plant at an open-air carpark near my place in January 2016. Since then, I had started to see it in many areas in Singapore. This plant should be introduced into Singapore around this period as I had not seen it in the past. Being so widespread now, I could not have missed it previously. Moreover, the first collection in Singapore was documented in September 2017 [1]. Someone had asked about its identity in a local newspaper in January 2019. In the iNaturalist website viewed on 30 October 2022, there were 23 sightings from Singapore with the first observation reported in July 2018.

Elsewhere in this region, it was naturalised in Taiwan before 2009 [2].
